And, now we move on to the DIY recipe! Follow these simple steps and make your own rosewater at home

  • You need fresh rose petals to make rose water. Pick roses from your backyard or your friend’s! Pick them in the morning – a couple of hours after sunrise – to ensure that the dew has evaporated. Avoid getting roses from vendors as those roses are loaded with chemicals and pesticides.
  • Wash the petals thoroughly to remove dirt and bugs.
  • Assemble them in a pot of distilled water.
  • Add a little water – just a little – to cover the petals. Excessive water will dilute the essence of the rose water.   just enough water to cover the petals. Too much water will give you very diluted rose water
  • Cover the pot with a lid. Allow it to simmer on a low flame. The water should be steaming hot not boiling hot.
  • The water should steam until the petals lose their colour. At this point, the water should take the colour of the rose petals and the rose oil would be floating on the surface.
  • This is the last step. Strain the water and pour it into a container. For best use, you can store the rose water in the fridge.

Aloe Vera

To combat acne, scoop out some aloe vera gel from the leaf and apply it directly to your skin. Aloe vera is a strong source of vitamins and is known to heal scars effectively. Allow the gel to soak in for at least thirty minutes before you wash it off. Aloe vera is a natural moisturizer, and apart from helping your skin deal with acne, it will leave your skin feeling soft and supple!

Coconut Oil

With strong moisturizing properties, coconut oil is one of the most common natural ingredients that can combat skin issues. Allow the coconut oil to come to room temperature and then apply it on scarred areas with your fingertips. Allow your skin to absorb the nourishing oil for as much time as possible. You should let it stay for at least thirty minutes. The vitamins and essential fatty acids will offer your skin the nourishment that it requires to repair itself.

Baking Soda

Create a thick paste by mixing a few teaspoons of baking soda and water. Massage this mixture into the skin and leave it for a minute or two. The soda cleanses the pores and help prevents blemishes. You can wash your face with warm water after two minutes and immediately apply a good natural moisturizer. Baking soda is generally used as a gentle exfoliator and is a mild cleansing agent that removes unwanted elements.

Potato Juice

Cut off a few slices of potato and rub them gently on the affected areas. Potato is rich in minerals and vitamins and has skin lightening properties. Let the juice stay on your skin for about fifteen minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Alternatively, you could also crush potatoes and use cotton pads to apply the juice onto the skin. Neem

Take some neem leaves and grind them to make a thick paste. Apply this paste for about half an hour every day on the scarred area.
