5 DIY Soaks for Happy Feet!

Having ‘Happy Feet’ in winter is now a reality with these easy, DIY foot soaks. Now you can relieve your feet from the stress, give them all the love and get them ready for another action-packed day in a matter of a few hours. Here are a few simple DIY foot soaks that will help you get back on your feet after no-matter-what!

Saltwater Soak

This is the quickest and simplest way to relax and pamper your tired, swollen feet. Salt and water make for a hyper-tonic solution that is beneficial for tired, swollen, and achy feet. The high concentration mixture that saltwater is, it extracts the excess water logged in your skin cells and this, in turn, reduces the swelling. Soak your feet in the warm salt water and give your feet the therapeutic love that it needs!

The Ylang Ylang Soak

Boil some water in a vessel and let it cool down a bit. Add two drops of Ylang Ylang essential oil and sea salt to this and soak your feet in this solution. Ylang Ylang essential oil is extracted from a tropical tree found in areas near Madagascar. The large, fragrant, colourful flowers have an exotic smell and hence the essential oil has deeply relaxing properties. The kind of happyness that your feet will feel after this is immeasurable!

The Magical Lavender Foot Bath

Lavender is an ingredient that is commonly used for preparing relaxing bubble baths, massages and foot soaks. The soothing aroma and relaxation properties make this foot spa an out-of-the-world experience for you! This one not only relaxes your feet, but also calms your mind. Add about two drops of lavender oil to 4-5 litres of water, one-fourth cup of sea salt, soak your feet, and let the magic begin!

Rice water and Baking Soda Soak

Take about two-three cups of hot rice water (water in which you have boiled rice) and three tablespoons of baking soda. Let the mixture cool down to a temperature suitable for you (it still has to be warm) and then dip your feet in it. Apart from offering relaxation to your feet, this soak also helps eliminate any unwanted smell from your feet. Baking soda is an antibacterial agent that prevents recurrent infections and reduces excessive perspiration.  In addition to this, rice water also helps to boost blood circulation which has a strong impact on all the functions of the body.

Just for your feet, Honey!

Take a normal pedicure bowl with warm water in it. Add about half a cup honey, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and one sliced lemon. Soak your feet in this solution till the water becomes cold. Apple cider vinegar is an ingredient that relaxes your muscles and relieves all the tension! This soothing soak is all the happy feels that your feet need, especially at the end of a tiring day!
